Induction Days - 2006

As in previous years, the Initiative is organising an Induction Day for teachers who are new to the Initiative. If the Language Teachers in your school are new to the Initiative, or if they missed the Induction Day in previous years, they are invited to attend one of this year’s days at the venue nearest your school:

• Dublin (Marino Institute of Education), October 17th, 2006
• Cork (Rochestown Park Hotel), October 19th, 2006

All Induction days will begin at 9.30am and finish at 3.00pm.

It is hoped that this training day will give them a valuable insight into the aims and objectives of the Initiative as well as the opportunity to attend practical workshops facilitated by the Initiative Project Leaders.

We would ask you to contact the Kildare Education Centre to confirm your place before October 6th. All attendees should bring a copy of the NCCA’s Draft Curriculum Guidelines with them – if you do not have a copy in your school, they can be downloaded from www.ncca.ie.

A letter containing this information will also be sent to all MLPSI schools.

Primartag - October 1st 2005

Here is information regarding the next 'Primarseminar' to be held in the Goethe-Institut on October 1st. The seminar will be led by Andreas Fischer, language advisor for German as a Foreign Language (DaF). The day will include various activities which explore speech rhythm, intonation and pronunciation and will include reference to his CD 'sowieso Raps'.

10. 15h Sprache ist Klang Wir fassen elementare Strukturen aus dem Alltagsdeutsch als rhythmisch-melodische Einheiten auf und lassen daraus dialogische Sprechstücke entstehen. Einfache Begleitrhythmen auf Perkussionsinstrumenten unterstützen den Redefluss.

11. 45h Phonetische Kardinalaufgaben Phonetische Analyse eines Übungstextes Phonetische Gesten Textbeispiel "Chamäleon Kunterbunt"

12. 45h Mittagsimbiss im Goethe-Institut

13. 30h Gruppenarbeit (ca. 4 x 5 Teilnehmer):
Ein Sprechstück einüben, es phonetisch analysieren und als Gruppendialog mit rhythmischer Begleitung präsentieren.

14. 45h Aussprachetraining anhand der Broschüre + CD "sowieso-RAPs"

15. 30h Abschlussgespräch und Informationen

16. 00h Ende
