IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE ATTENTION OF ALL QUALIFIED TEACHERS TRAINED OUTSIDE THE STATE CAILIOCHT NA GAEILGE (SCG) COURSE (40-HRS)
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT KILDARE EDUCATION CENTRE WILL OFFER THE ABOVE COURSE THE WEEK COMMENCING 1ST NOVEMBER 2010 (SUBJECTTO OBTAINING THE REQUIRED NUMBERS). THE COURSE WILL RUN 2 NIGHTS A WEEK (MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS) FROM 7PM – 9PM FROM NOVEMBER TO DECEMBER AND WILL RUN1 NIGHT A WEEK FROM JANUARY 2011 ONWARDS. THE FEE FOR THIS COURSE IS €475 (WHICH INCLUDESMATERIALS) AND THIS MUST BE PAID IN FULLBEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF THE COURSE. PLEASECONTACT THE CENTRE IMMEDIATELY (BUT NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 15THOCTOBER) IF YOU WISH TO BOOK A PLACE ON THIS COURSE. The aim of Kildare Education Centre is to provide support to the teaching and wider education community of Co Kildare, East Offaly and
West Wicklow .
Kildare Education Centre supports:
- the delivery of professional development courses for the Education community at a local and national level
- the PPDS Advisors
- the provision of ICT Training inclluding Whole School
- Consolidation of curricular review through support groups and local courses
- Whole School planning and development
- Induction of newly qualified teachers
The Centre is involved with many projects some of which include:
- Write a book
- Birds in the School Yard
- E-twinning
- FIS film project
- T4
- Seismology in Schools
- TL21 Transfer Initiative
- Discover Sensors
The Centre engages with many agencies some of which are:
- PPDS - Primary Professional Development Service
- SLSS - Second Level Support Service
- SESS - Special Education Support Service
- NCTE - National Centre for Technology in Education
- TPNs - Teacher Professional Networks
- TPCs - Teacher Professional Communities
- NEPS - National Educational Psychological Service
The Centre Management Committee is elected annually at the AGM by the members of the Centre.
The Director of the Centre is Dolores Hamill.
