Kildare Education Centre
Established in 1997
The aim of Kildare Education Centre is to provide support to the teaching and wider education community of Co Kildare, East Offaly and
West Wicklow .
Kildare Education Centre supports:
- the delivery of professional development courses for the Education community at a local and national level
- the PPDS Advisors
- the provision of ICT Training inclluding Whole School
- Consolidation of curricular review through support groups and local courses
- Whole School planning and development
- Induction of newly qualified teachers
The Centre is involved with many projects some of which include:
- Write a book
- Birds in the School Yard
- E-twinning
- FIS film project
- T4
- Seismology in Schools
- TL21 Transfer Initiative
- Discover Sensors
The Centre engages with many agencies some of which are:
- PPDS - Primary Professional Development Service
- SLSS - Second Level Support Service
- SESS - Special Education Support Service
- NCTE - National Centre for Technology in Education
- TPNs - Teacher Professional Networks
- TPCs - Teacher Professional Communities
- NEPS - National Educational Psychological Service
The Centre Management Committee is elected annually at the AGM by the members of the Centre.
The Director of the Centre is Dolores Hamill.
The Minister meets with Kildare Education Centre Management Committee.
