24KESC427 The STAR Technique and LAOS

Monday, 7th October 2024 from 5pm - 6.30pm in Kildare Education Support Centre

The aim of this course is to help teachers to grasp how to tell impactful, interesting career stories in line with the key competencies of LAOS. Participants will engage in face to face learning and networking and simple, practical tasks to learn the skill of effective interview storytelling.

Participants will:

• learn how to show variety in their actions in their interview answers using verbs
• connect verbs with the key leadership qualities, and
• compose meaningful, short interview answers.

Facilitator: Orla Dempsey

Orla Dempsey is a Primary School Teacher and The Teacher Promotion Mentor. She is a specialist in The Looking at Our Schools Document - and has created various resources and blogs designed to help teachers reflect and decipher what LAOS looks like in their school and classroom. She has recently started a weekly podcast called ‘The Growth in Educational Leadership Podcast’ which is going from strength to strength. A passionate believer in strengths-focused coaching and mentoring and working from your zone of genius - Orla aims to help teachers simplify the process of doing interviews.
